Winged Spider

Because everyone should have a small computer in Singapore connected to the internet so they can easily practice their web skills, try out ideas, or whatever.

This Website ...

Is basically a placeholder for hopeful future endeavours. In the meantime, you can checkout some real projects and enthusiasms of mine at Github and the Tarrasch Chess GUI.

Oh, and here are a couple of chess games I played on the same day I made this website. Interactive chess tech courtesy of my Tarrasch Chess GUI.

An insect with an extra pair of photoshopped legs pretending to be a winged spider

The Picture ...

Is not a winged spider. There's no such thing as a winged spider. I didn't know that when I thought up the domain name. I just thought it was a cool domain name. A few moments googling revealed that there's no such thing as winged spiders because insects and spiders are two quite different and unrelated branches in the tree of life. I had always thought spiders were basically insects with eight legs, biology never being one of my strengths. Trying to make a picture of a winged spider proved to be a bit of a challenge, given my complete absence of artistic, design or graphic skills. I did find it was much easier to graft an extra pair of legs onto an insect than graft a set of wings onto a spider. I used MS Paint instead of Photoshop, because I'm a programmer. Although I did use Gimp (Photoshop for cheapskates) to rotate the extra legs a little bit.

I should give due credit to the original photo, which is Creative Commons licenced which means it can be, ahem, adapted. The photo was found on Wikipedia, it is by Filippo Turetta - own work, CC BY-SA 4.0. My apologies to the photographer, and to the poor creature whose dignity I have rather betrayed I feel.
